I know I know. I love triathlon, I am a dominant a persona in the sport, but why I am so excited about not racing this year?
That is right friends. I could not be more over joyed by this enforced break.
Last year was hectic. 3 x 70.3s, 3 Ironman’s across the globe, Santa Rosa, Copenhagen and Wales. Securing my 12th Ironman branded race to now have my allocated slot for Kona Legacy, 2025.
I am grateful not to be racing. I am grateful that Ironman Austria allowed me to defer my race to 2021, I am grateful that my accomodation moved everything to next year and I am glad Ironman honoured the change where it does not impact my Kona Legacy race date.
There are bigger things in the world going on that take precedence. I personally don’t want to race without the full experience of people around cheering etc. I’m confident in time we will get back to this.
It might not be in the next 6 months but we will return to way we race. All races will need to pivot and I feel in some cases will naturally improve their processes. I also believe the return to grass roots racing, will resurface and be dominant. Which is great for our sport as a whole.
You will also see within the UK circuit in races to come, Stomp the Pedal have a little pop up booth at races. I want to meet the women out there racing. I want them to learn and know about the brand, the community, the familia that I’ve created over the last 3 years.
This year is still so very exciting for me. I get to embrace and enjoy the journey of moving into my first very own home. I’m enjoying vitally shopping for pieces of furniture and setting it up true ‘Tarsh Opulent glamour’ style. My home is my haven baby, and I’m going all out. Not I’ve not purchased any items yet.
I get to focus on slowing down, spending more time developing products for my clientele. I get to read more, drink gin, eat all the food. Man I simply get to live a little loose for a bit.
Overall racing will return and when it does I’ll return to the level of commitment to get the best out of me.
I feel next season will be one of the best for many. Strengthening disciplines that we neglected or never did, will definitely assist in our overall performance. I also feel that during this time the mental strength being developed by my fellow athletes will serve them greatly when they line up at the start line.
Next year’s racing, from pro to age groupers across the globe is going to be very very exciting.
Till next time lovelies, stay safe, do what your government advises and stay strong.
Smooches
